– In December 2011 the landmark auction of The
Collection of Elizabeth Taylor at Christie’s
New York from December 3 – 17 far exceeded Christie’s
pre-sale expectations realising a combined total
of $156,756,576 (£100,324,209/€120,702,563).
Drawing unprecedented interest from bidders
throughout the world, every single one of the
1,778 lots of jewellery, fashion, decorative
arts and film memorabilia sold. Christie’s will
present the remaining portion of 38 works from
the collection – led by Vue de l'Asile de
la Chapelle de Saint-Rémy, 1889, by Vincent
Van Gogh (1853-1890) (estimate: £5-7million)
- between February 7 and 8 in the London series
of major bi-annual Impressionist and Modern

introduced iPad 2, the next generation of
