COLLECTOR CAR WEBSITE AND INDEX - K500.COM

Brings together classic car value tracking and expert ratings online

In brief:

Unique website brings together for the first time online, accurate classic car value tracking and knowledgeable, entertaining insight on the world's 500 most significant classic cars.

K500.com is the brainchild of Geneva-based classic car expert Simon Kidston (photo above) and his experienced team.

K500.com uses City-standard charting to track the average growth of 500 key collectors’ cars since 1994, creating the K500 index.

It also offers straightforward advice, and unprecedented accessibility, backed up by two decades of verifiable auction results, on classic cars that range from a Fiat 500 to a Ferrari 500 Superfast.

For the very first time in the market, every car in the K500 is rated on a scale of 1 to 100 using the 'tasting notes' principle familiar from fine wine rating

Interest is building for next month’s unique Salon Privé London Concours de Vente which will be held for the third year running on 18-20 April 2024. This is the only classic car concours in the world where every entry is for sale. And along with growing interest, the number of entries is rising all the time too, with some headline cars already confirmed for the famous event held in the grounds of Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Joe Macari will return to Salon Privé London for the third year running, with a spectacular line-up of five classic models. The entries will include a stunning 1970 Lamborghini Miura P400 S (photo above), a late production model that’s been fully restored and finished in iconic black and gold. The 550th Miura built, this car was sold new in Voitures Paris Monceau and has an extensive history, with owners in France and Belgium enjoying it before the car came to the UK in 2012. It was fully restored in 2014 by Barkaways, to concours standard.

The car has been displayed at various Concours d’Elegance events across Europe, as well as attending the Miura’s 50th Anniversary celebrations hosted by Automobili Lamborghini. Now, it has the added honour of appearing at the Salon Privé London Concours de Vente – and like all entries, visitors will have the chance to buy it.
